Tampa Theatre
Tampa
Built in 1926 by John Eberson.
|
The Theater was designed as a Florida Mediterranean Atmospheric style theatre. Audiences were transported to a lavish, romantic Mediterranean courtyard, replete with old world
statuary, flowers and gargoyles. Over all is a night-time sky, replete with twinkling stars and floating clouds. On January 3, 1978, it was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places. The Tampa Theatre has undergone many restoration projects to maintain its original splendor as well as equipment upgrades to provide a modern movie-going experience.
