Albion Hotel

Albion Hotel

Miami Beach

Built in 1939 by Polevitzky and Russell, 1939; Renovation: Carlos Zapata Studio, 1997.

Rich in allegory and maritime allure, the Albion demonstrates the ability of local vernacular to generate sophisticated urbanism and a powerful iconography. Architects Igor Polevitzky and T. Trip Russell created a mixed-use resort complex whose smooth, streamlined skin blends hotel, retail, and office uses into a seamless whole.
