An educational environment that promotes collaboration through transparency, a concept that reflects the College’s vision of future learning. This new higher-education project consists of learning spaces and administrative offices. Among the key design challenges was the integration of a large amount of required parking spaces with a small building footprint. The main sustainable strategies focused on the selection of materials and on orientation for optimizing daylight. The design is intended to reinforce the College’s presence in the City by using the building as a promotional tool. The “faceted box” appears to float, serving as an icon and beacon easily seen from the West, along the Interstate highway.
