Borrowing from materials used in some buildings around the area, a series of planes expressed in different material forms help compose the building’s envelope. Raw concrete and solid walls covered with composite wood panels suggest the secured nature of the building and contrasts with the inviting transparency expressed at the large expanse glass areas that contain the main public spaces. The contemporary cubist lines and planes enhance the simple dynamic design. Wall panels appear to be movable, as if they could slide and overlap one another randomly. This approach invites the viewer to mentally re-invent the building in different ways as it is observed.
